Terms of Service
Effective 30 July 2026 · the operator of Front Bar Games ("we", "us")
A plain-language note: this document was prepared as a template and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It reflects how the service genuinely works, and we hold ourselves to it — but if you need certainty for a contract or a dispute, ask us and we'll get you a signed copy.
These terms cover the use of Front Bar Games — the website, the host console, the big-screen display and the player pages (together, "the service"). Hosts and venues with an account agree to them by using the service; players in the room just play.
1. What the service is
Front Bar Games provides software for running live, big-screen games in a room: a host console, a display for the venue's screen, and join-by-QR pages for players' phones. We provide the software. The event itself — the room, the host, the licensing of the venue and any prizes — is yours.
2. Accounts
Accounts are created by us for venues, hosts and organisations we onboard. Keep your password to yourself, and treat the host console link and game links as secrets — the console holds the answers, and anyone holding the link can run (or ruin) your game. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other users, venues or the service at risk.
3. Prizes, promotions and local law are the venue's responsibility
Games like bingo and prize draws can, depending on how you run them and where, fall under trade promotion, lottery or gaming rules that differ by state and territory. You are responsible for making sure your event, your prizes and any paid entry comply with the law where you run them. The service is built for free-entry social play; if you charge for entry or run regulated gaming, that compliance is entirely yours, and we're not a party to any wager, prize or promotion you run.
4. Your content
Question packs you write, logos and photos you upload, and names you put on screen stay yours. You give us a licence to store and display them so the service works, and you promise you have the rights to what you upload and that it isn't unlawful, defamatory or someone else's IP. We can remove content that breaks that promise. What appears on a venue's big screen in front of a room is the host's editorial call — preview your packs before doors.
5. AI-generated content
The console can draft question packs with AI. Review them before you play them. AI questions can be wrong, out of date, or tonally off for your room, and the reveal happens in front of an audience. The feature drafts; the host decides.
6. Plans, credits and fees
Paid plans are described at https://front-bar-games-production.up.railway.app/pricing. One credit is one game you run, every round included. Published prices are indicative while we tailor plans with early customers — the price that binds is the one we agree with you in writing. We won't cut off a live event because a meter ran out mid-night; overruns are settled like adults afterwards. Fees are in Australian dollars and, where applicable, include GST.
7. Availability
Live events are why this exists, so we take stability seriously — but we can't promise the internet. The service is provided as available: we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, and venue wi-fi, projectors and phones are outside our control. Rehearse before doors (every plan lets you), keep the console device charged, and read https://front-bar-games-production.up.railway.app/help for the failure-recovery features built into every game.
8. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break into games you're not part of, scrape or overload the service, reverse-engineer it, use it to harass people, or put content on a room's screen that is unlawful. A player who joins a game agrees to be shown on that room's screen under the name they typed.
9. Liability — the honest version
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. Where the law lets us limit liability, our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to, at our choice, re-supplying the service or refunding what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including a flat event, lost profits, or a prize dispute in your room — and you indemnify us for claims arising from your event, your content or your breach of clause 3.
10. Ending things
You can stop using the service any time; unused credits on a paid plan at cancellation are settled per your plan agreement. We can end or suspend access for breach of these terms, with a refund of unused prepaid fees where the breach isn't yours.
11. The boring but true bits
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and disputes go to its courts. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to account holders, and the current version always lives at https://front-bar-games-production.up.railway.app/terms. Our privacy practices are at https://front-bar-games-production.up.railway.app/privacy.
